Young Investigator Awards

The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) is pleased to announce a new funding program for Young/Early Career Prostate Cancer Researchers. PCF intends to fund 100 Young Investigators over the next five years and name about 15 in 2008. Consistent with our goal to end death and suffering from prostate cancer, these awards focus our efforts on developing a gifted cohort of investigators to undertake the next generation of prostate cancer research.

About the Awards
The awards will be three years in duration and will provide $75,000 per year. Awarded funds may be used flexibly to advance the career and research efforts of the awardee. Mentorship is required for every PCF Young Investigator applicant and grantee. Young Investigator awardees and their Mentors will be invited to the annual PCF Scientific Retreat in Lake Tahoe.

Applicants need not be trained specifically in clinical prostate cancer research. However, successful applicants should be working in a research environment capable of supporting potentially high impact prostate cancer research. Access to and interaction with a clinical environment and translational prostate cancer physician-scientists is highly desirable. Applications are encouraged from early-career basic scientists, medical oncologists, pathologists, urologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, public health experts, or professionals from other medical research disciplines.
