Celebs Support Prostate Cancer Foundation with Father's Day Charity Auction

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 24, 2004 -- From May 27 through June 21, you can log onto eBay and bid on a special Father's Day present for your dad, such as two hours with Magic Johnson, a day with Arnold Palmer, lunch with Don King or a meal with Miss Universe -- with all the proceeds benefiting the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF).

eBay Giving Works is the dedicated fundraising program on eBay that enables nonprofit organizations to raise money by selling items directly on the eBay Marketplace, as well as to benefit from the generosity of other sellers in the eBay Community who choose to donate a percentage of their sales proceeds to support a specific cause.

"The PCF 'Because You Love Him' charity auction on eBay represents an innovative and integrated approach to fundraising through eBay Giving Works," said Kristin Cunningham, General Manager for eBay Giving Works. "PCF is bringing a number of exciting items for the eBay Community to bid on for Father's Day, while raising money for a worthwhile cause."

"Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in America, affecting one in six men throughout their lifetime," said Leslie D. Michelson, Prostate Cancer Foundation CEO. "Our work with companies such as eBay, as well as the numerous sponsors who generously donated items and the eBay community, is vital to educating American men and making further strides in treatment and ultimately finding a cure."

To bid on a special "Because You Love Him" Father's Day charity auction item to benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation, log on to http://www.ebay.com/pcf. If you're a seller who wants to list and benefit PCF through eBay Giving Works, log on to http://givingworks.ebay.com/sell.
