Prostate Cancer Foundation Teams Up with Arnold Palmer, AriZona Beverage and Lamkin to Fight Prostate Cancer

LOS ANGELES, March 9 -- The Prostate Cancer Foundation today announced major corporate alliances with Lamkin Corporation and AriZona Beverage Company to support crucial research to find new treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.  Lamkin has made a five-year pledge to raise at least one million dollars for the Prostate Cancer Foundation's research initiatives, agreeing to donate a percentage of sales of its regrip products.  AriZona Beverage Company, in association with participating Safeway and Vons stores, will also donate to the Prostate Cancer Foundation a portion of the proceeds from the sale of cans of Lemon, Raspberry, Green Tea and Arnold Palmer's Half'n Half Lite.  Safeway's 1,700 stores include Vons, Pavilions, Carrs, Dominick's, Randalls, Tom Thumb and Genuardi's.

Arnold Palmer is a prostate cancer survivor and an active participant in the campaign to conquer prostate cancer, the most common non-skin cancer in America, striking more than 230,000 men a year.  In the time it takes to play a round of golf, 18 men will lose their battle with prostate cancer.  Palmer is the honorary national golf chairman of the Prostate Cancer Foundation, which sponsors Arnie's Army Battles Prostate Cancer.  This one-day closest to the pin tournament will involve 75,000 amateur golfers at 1,500 participating golf courses in 2004, with the proceeds dedicated to funding prostate cancer research.  More information on Arnie's Army is available at www.arniesarmybattles.com.

"At Lamkin, we believe golf is one of life's great pleasures," said President and CEO Bob Lamkin.  "As committed as we are to this game, we're even more committed to this community.  That's why we resolved to fight the disease that will affect one in six golfers.  We are doing what we believe is our duty -- giving something back."
"AriZona Beverage is proud to be able to help raise dollars for the Prostate Cancer Foundation," said Don Vultaggio, Chairman of AriZona Beverage.  "Along with our friends at Safeway, we are hoping that through sales of our products, our donation will help move the needle in helping to find a cure for this terrible disease."
Prostate Cancer Foundation CEO Leslie D. Michelson stated, "The strong commitment of good corporate citizens such as Lamkin and AriZona Beverage will help us achieve greater awareness of prostate cancer and make further strides in finding a cure.  Without these corporate allies and the many other donors dedicated to our cause, we would not have seen the tremendous recent progress.  I would also like to thank Arnold Palmer.  He is a legend who transformed the game of golf.  He is now helping us transform the search for better treatments for the two million American men battling prostate cancer."
