Metastatic Prostate Cancer Without Prior Hormonal Therapy

A Phase II Study of AT101, to Abrogate bcl-2 Mediated Resistance to Androgen Ablation Therapy in Patients with Newly Diagnosed Stage D2 Prostate Cancer

This Phase II trial will evaluate the safety, tolerability, and possible effect of an LHRH agonist and bicalutamide combined with AT-101 administered over a 9.5 month treatment period to 55 patients with metastatic, newly-diagnosed stage D2 prostate cancer. Potential activity of the treatment will be measured by standard prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests to determine the percentage of patients with undetectable PSA at 7 months of therapy.
