Todd Helton is among the best players in Major League Baseball today. As of July 2008, the starting first baseman for the Colorado Rockies is a 5-time All Star selection, a 4-time Silver Slugger, and a 3-time Gold Glove winner. Helton also received the 2002 Humanitarian Award at the Sports Fans Choice Awards presented by the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, and was the recipient of the Rockies’ Roberto Clemente Award in both 2000 and 2002.

A National co-chair of the Home Run Challenge, Helton currently holds the second highest career batting average of all active players with a .330 average. Also amongst all active players, Helton is third in batting average (.328), first in on-base percentage (.428), fifth in slugging (.574), fifth in intentional walks (170), and eighth in doubles (471).

The 2009 season marks Jim Tracy’s 32nd year in professional baseball. Tracy brings with him seven years of managerial experience in Major League Baseball. Prior to the Rockies, he managed the Pittsburgh Pirates (2006-2007) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (2001-2005).

As a manager of the Dodgers, the club had a 427-383 (.527) regular season record. In 2004 alone, he lead the team to a first-place finish in the National League West, and finished third in the Manager of the Year balloting. In 2002, Tracy represented the Dodgers as a coach for the National League All-Star team.
