A Phase 3 Trial of dasatinib (SRC-inhibitor) added to standard of care chemotherapy (docetaxel) for the treatment of castrate-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC):

Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) Company is conducting a Phase 3 trial in patients with metastatic CRPC using a novel agent that is combined with standard docetaxel chemotherapy.  Dasatinib which can be taken orally once daily will be compared to placebo, to determine if this combination prolongs survival in men who have metastatic CRPC.

This study which is currently recruiting patients is being conducted in over 30 centers across the USA and also in 24 other countries around the world. The study is listed on the federal clinical trials website: www.clinicaltrials.gov under CT Identifier NCT00744497.
