Step 2A CURE Joins PGA Tour to Promote Health and Raise Funds for Prostate Cancer
Program To Be Featured at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship October 29 – November 1 in Sonoma
SANTA MONICA, CA/October 20, 2009—Step 2A CURE, a healthy and fun way for PGA tour spectators to raise awareness and money for prostate cancer, premieres this month at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship at the Sonoma Golf Club in California. During the four-day PGA golf tournament, October 29 through November 1, spectators will be able to sign up, make a pledge and follow tour players through the 18-hole course during competition.
Gary Dicovitsky to Head Major Gifts Program at the Prostate Cancer Foundation
Veteran Executive Named Executive Vice President of Development
SANTA MONICA, CA/October 6, 2009—Gary Dicovitsky, a twenty-six year veteran in philanthropic fundraising, has joined the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) as executive vice president of development. In his new position, he is in charge of leading the PCF’s major gifts program and other development efforts. Dicovitsky has led successful campaigns at some of the nation’s leading organizations including Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the California Institute of Technology and Pomona College. He has also managed fundraising efforts at Princeton University, University of Virginia and Dartmouth College.

In acknowledgement of CrossFit’s annual Fight Gone Bad event that has raised more than $1 million since 2006, the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) has announced it will name one of its Creativity Awards the Greg and Lauren Glassman Grant for Early Detection Biomarker Research.

SANTA MONICA, CA/September 18, 2009—A new guide, Straight Talk for African-American Men and their Families, is now available from the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF). It was produced in alliance with Charlie Wilson, famed R&B singer and recent prostate cancer survivor. African-American men are 1.6 times more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer and more than 2.4 times more likely to die from it than Caucasian men.
