In the time it takes to play a round of 18 holes, 14 men will lose their battle with prostate cancer. Lamkin, the premier maker of golf club grips, is working with the Prostate Cancer Foundation to fight back. PCF Honorary Golf Chairman Arnold Palmer is a prostate cancer survivor who has played with and endorsed Lamkin grips for 40 years. Lamkin has made a goal to raise at least $150,000 annually for prostate cancer research.
Lamkin donates $400,000 to fight prostate cancer
In September 2007, Lamkin's "Grips for Life" program surpassed the $400,000 mark in donations to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Lamkin, a world leader in golf grip innovation, remains steadfastly committed to raising one million dollars through "Grips for Life," a program created with Arnold Palmer that delivers a portion of all proceeds from domestic Lamkin branded grip sales to help fund research into treatments and an eventual cure.
"Mr. Palmer, who has played Lamkin grips throughout his career, is a prostate cancer survivor and an active participant in the campaign to defeat a disease that will affect more than 234,000 men this year," says Bob Lamkin, president and CEO of Lamkin. "Prostate cancer is one of the biggest killers in the United States and we invite golfers, distributors, retailers and clubmakers to help us defeat a disease that will affect so many in the golfing community."
Lamkin unveiled the company's goal of raising one million dollars in January 2004.
