PCF Applauds Cancer Bill on Capitol Hill

Along with Lance Armstrong, Elizabeth Edwards, and many other high-profile cancer survivors and experts, PCF President and Chief Executive Officer Jonathan W. Simons, MD, was recently asked to testify on Capitol Hill about upcoming anti-cancer legislation. The bipartisan bill — introduced by Senators Edward Kennedy (D-MA) and Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-TX) — has been called a "new war on cancer."

"We need a very vigorous investment in the areas of cancer research that can really cut down death and suffering in cancer," Dr. Simons has said. He hopes the bill represents a new pledge from the government to "end cancer in our lifetime in America."
