The State of Prostate Cancer Today
How your partnership with the PCF has led to 15 years of progress — and a future of hope
Before the PCF was founded in 1993, men with prostate cancer faced a grim reality.
Just $27 million in federal funds existed for research on the deadly disease. There were only three research labs, two new clinical trials per year, and NO promising medicines in the pipeline — leading Forbes magazine to label prostate cancer investigation a "research backwater."
Giving Men New Hope
Since then, the PCF has raised more than $350 million and funded 1,500 research projects worldwide. There are now:
- $550 million in federal funds
- 200 dedicated research labs
- More than 60 clinical trials per year
- Over 30 promising new medicines
These are just a few of the highlights that have given the two million American men struggling with prostate cancer new hope . . . and made the PCF the world’s leader in this fight.
