Therapeutic Clinical Investigation Consortium ("Therapy Consortium")
To ensure that leading cancer centers maintain a robust infrastructure for conducting prostate cancer clinical trials, the Prostate Cancer Foundation has provided more than $25 million to eight leading prostate cancer programs and formed the Therapy Consortium. These institutions have agreed to work in a collaborative manner to rapidly and efficiently develop promising prostate cancer therapies.
The clinical investigators that comprise the Therapy Consortium are among the most respected prostate cancer researchers in the United States. The existence of the consortium is a powerful motivator for the pharmaceutical industry to develop prostate cancer drugs, since it is available to help quickly advance clinical development of promising investigational compounds. The consortium has also provided scientific guidance on clinical trial design to the pharmaceutical industry, helping to reduce the time needed to move a drug candidate from discovery to clinical development.
Current members of the Consortium include:
• Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center (Los Angeles, CA): David B. Agus, M.D., Research Director
