Prostate Cancer Foundation Appoints Executive to Oversee Discovery and Translational Research
Howard R. Soule, PhD, rejoins the PCF after two-year sabbatical to lead innovative research efforts
SANTA MONICA, Calif. — February 23, 2007 — The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) has announced the appointment of Howard R. Soule, PhD as Executive Vice President, Discovery and Translation.
Dr. Soule brings several decades of research and healthcare experience to this new position and is responsible for coordinating global academic, government and biopharmaceutical research activities in prostate cancer. Central to this mission, Dr. Soule is charged with implementing the PCF’s global research strategies which are projected to grow exponentially under his new leadership.

Distinguished researchers in the prostate cancer community echoed Milken’s sentiments.

Coffey Professor and Director of Research of the James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute and Professor of Urology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. "His track record of facilitating the movement of ideas to clinical practice makes him an outstanding person to work with during this exciting time."
About Howard Soule, PhD
Dr. Soule was Executive Vice President and Chief Science Officer at the PCF from 1997 to 2004. Most recently, he was Managing Director of Knowledge Universe Health and Wellness Group, a private investment firm focused on companies in the general areas of disease prevention and treatment.
Prior to joining the PCF in 1997, Dr. Soule was a senior research and development executive for nearly a decade at Corvas International, Inc., a public biotechnology company. He was responsible for the discovery and development of innovative products for the treatment of life-threatening cardiovascular diseases.
In addition, Dr. Soule has considerable experience in medical diagnostic and device industries. Dr. Soule received a PhD from Baylor College of Medicine in Virology and Epidemiology and was a Post Doctoral Fellow in Immunology and Vascular Biology at the Scripps Research Institute.
