Why Give—

The Prostate Cancer Foundation was founded with an urgent mission: to find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.

In 2009, an estimated 192,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer-one new case every 2.7 minutes.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation is 100% supported by private contributions, which means that we need help from people like you if we are going to achieve our mission: to develop better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.

Supporters of the Prostate Cancer Foundation are people like you. Those who have a high awareness of prostate cancer, have loved ones—husbands, fathers, brothers, sons—who have prostate cancer, or concerned that one day they, or other men in their lives will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.

The generosity of our supporters has already led to a great many advances in the effort to find better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer. Our donors have funded experimental drugs and treatments, as well as research into the science behind this devastating disease. More of our population is catching on to the fact that 1 in 6 men will develop prostate cancer and that a man has a 35 percent greater chance to develop prostate cancer than a woman has to develop breast cancer.

But there is much more to be done.

With your help, we will figure out why so many men get prostate cancer, and why it is far more life threatening to some men than others.

With your help, we will be able to continue supporting and encouraging scientists who are striving to reduce the time it takes to complete a clinical trial and win regulatory approval for new prostate cancer treatments—a vital step that will speed new prostate cancer drugs to patients in need today.

With your help, we will be able to make a quantum leap forward in the fight against this disease. But it’s only possible with enough funding. That’s why your support is so important—and why we need your contribution to help researchers forge ahead in their quest for better treatments and a cure.

Your support is important to us. Please act now.
