Alex Rodriguez
New York Yankee superstar third baseman, Alex Rodriguez is considered by most experts to be the best all-around player in baseball today. Last season the 2007 American League MVP established career-highs with 143 runs and 156 RBI while also hitting .314 along with a Major League leading 54 home runs.
Dating back to 1996, Rodriguez leads all Major League players in home runs, runs scored, runs batted in, total bases and extra base hits. He is the youngest player ever to hit 500 home runs, breaking the record Jimmie Foxx set in 1939. At such relative young age (32) and with 524 total homeruns to date, many believe Rodriquez will shatter the all-time home run record of 762 before his playing days are over.
Rodriquez is currently 4th all-time on the HRC home run list with 12, only 3 behind all-time leader and retired player, Eric Karros.
Alex Rodriguez is the New York Yankees representative for the Home Run Challenge.
